THE ASANOR ENDOWMENT FUND MARCH 2008 REPORT
(Best hummed to “Red Arrows in the Sunset”)
Western Union once delivered singing telegrams, and one day long ago, the doorbell rang at Lina Lamont’s apartment in Hollywood, announcing the presence of a Western Union Messenger.
Lina: Oh, Western Onion! (she said nasally)
WUSM: Yes ma’am. I have a message for you.
Lina: Ohhhhh, a singing telegram. I looove singing telegrams.
WUSM: It’s not a singing telegram, ma’am. This is just an ordinary message.
Well, maybe not so ordinary.
Lina: Never mind. Sing it!
WUSM: I really don’t want to deliver this news ma’am, and certainly not in music.
Lina: Nonsense. Sing it, Western Onion Singing Messenger!
WUSM: Well, if you insist, ma’am. Here it is:
da-da-dada-da
"Your brother Fred
Is dead."
Since October 1, 2007, the Fund has lost NOK 142,009 or 15.2% of its value. Partly because the confetti, ah, dollar, has lost further ground (from 5.44 to 5.17), the EF’s assets have dipped below a million to NOK 930,231.
